Why would one bother to invest in a gold stock? Investing in gold stocks is the second best way of investing in gold, next to physical gold investment. There are several reasons why traders should be investing in gold stocks now.

The first reason is very basic. It is taught in schools that natural resources are scarce. Gold is a natural resource that is deposited underground and is now becoming more and more scarce. This does not mean, though, that gold will soon be totally gone. It will always be there but it is now not enough to provide for the growing demand of gold. The third reason is the devaluation of the US dollar. The US dollar is the standard currency used in measuring the value of gold. Gold prices and the US dollar are inversely related to each other. This means that as the value of US dollar declines, the price of gold rises. This is good news for investors as it also gains them more profit.

The last reason is the convenience of owning gold stocks of mining companies than having physical gold on hand. The disadvantages of investing in physical gold have been seen by experts and traders. Gold stocks investment is now deemed an easier way of investing in gold. Some major concerns when investing in physical gold is its security and storage. Meanwhile, those are no longer concerns in gold stocks investments. Gold stocks can be easily liquidated and secured.
